I am so bummed!

Oh no!!!!!

OMG! ALL my favorite animes have come to an end....

Occult Academy, High School of the Dead, Kaichou wa Maid-sama! (KWMS), and worst of all K-ON!! have ended. Frankly speaking, I am sad and dejected the fact that I am not looking forward to anything anymore. I am still 'shopping' for the new anime series to download.

Among the anime series that I mentioned above, the best anime series of my choice- hands down - belong to OCCULT ACADEMY. The reason be, I really love how the story is wrapped and resolved. And I also love how the relationship between Bunmei and Maya has 'shifted' to another different level...

I also love how K-ON!! ends everything. Instead leaving the fan in wonder about the future of the Light Music Club and Azu-nyan, the creator has managed to fill in the gaps and satisfy the fan simultaneously.

Deep inside, I believe there will be 2nd season of KWMS if we look at how the series is resolved. And based on the manga, I believe the next season of the series will be much more conflict-riddled. I am so crossing my fingers now!
Hmm.. I wonder what is happening to Shiki????

The war is ON!

I would be crazy if I did not blog on KWMS ep. 23...

I believe this epi is the starting point of an impending war between Usui and Shintani. For the first time Usui is serious about his feeling for Misaki. However, for some mysterious reason Misaki seemed oblivious about his action. I will not going to do the synopsis and let's get to the important point, shall we?

In this week's epi, Usui and Ayuzawa were rather bold in displaying their affection. I really adore that Ayuzawa was opening to him gradually. Maybe, the appearance of Shintani is a blessing in disguise. At least, Usui is becoming more serious when he realized that he had a rival.

PDA!

More PDA!

Jealous Usui 1

On Ayuzawa' side, she was rather torn between Shintani and Usui. There is a part in this epi when they - Ayuzawa and Shintani - talked about their childhood, it seemed that Ayuzawa could connect to Shintani's softer and tender side. And when Shintani talked about Ayuzawa's kindness towards him during their childhood, this certainly gave Usui the shock that he much needed. Reminding him that he was about to lose Ayuzawa for good if he kept on the lackadaisical facade. And when Shintani talked about his part time job, she began to see him as a man. And Usui was jealous beyond word!

Jealous Usui 2

The part that I adore most is when, Ayuzawa finally told him the truth about she being a maid in the cafe. After realizing the sincerity of Shintani, she decided to tell him the truth. Shintani was so surprised and began to wreak havoc. However, in the midst of the commotion, Usui intervened in and dragged Ayuzawa outside, behind the cafe, followed by Shintani.

I said, no touchy!!!

And this was when Usui declared to rip out Shintani's throat if he ever touched Ayuzawa again! Well, the war is definitely ON!

Is this all you got?!

KWMS epi 22 had left me unsatisfied... For heaven sake, there will be another 4 epis more to go and by the looks of it, this series will NOT resolve well. I hope there will be the second season for this series. Miyabigaoka's boys especially Igarashi Tora NEED to have MORE air time!

In this epi, the appearance of Shintani Hinata doesn't really pack a punch to the whole plot. I was hoping more from him as he was supposed to be Usui's rival. However, from what I watched in this week's epi, Usui should no worry that much... Even though it did spark Usui's jealousy the impact was not what I expected.

In this epi as well, it is revealed that Shintani was the total opposite of Usui. He is candid, childlike and also frank. When both Ayuzawa and Shintani were inadvertently trapped in a storeroom, he even revealed his feeling for Ayuzawa but I am not very sure whether it was reciprocated. He wanted Ayuzawa to see him as a man instead of a boy. However, before Ayuzawa even managed to say anything, she was 'swept' away by the jealous Usui.

The part where I adore the most in this epi is when Usui asked Ayuzawa whether Shintani is special to her. This is simply priceless!!!!

Since this was the final 5 episodes before the finale, I am hoping something good and memorable as a resolution...

LOVE TRIANGLE alert!

After the wasteful filler last week,KWMS is back on the track....Yokatta! Hopefully, this week's epi (episode 21) is going to be the point where the Usui-Ayuzawa relationship moves forward....

This week's episode, we are exposed to the fact that Kanou is actually a very intuitive person. He could smell some tension between Ayuzawa and Usui when everybody (even Ayuzawa herself) fail to acknowledge or pretending to - Usui? And he could also sense the feeling that Usui had for Ayuzawa even Usui was being so aloof.

The omniscient Kanou-kun...

Then, enters Shintani Hinata, a VERY mysterious transfer student. However, in this epi we were only exposed the truth about Shintani towards the end. It turned out that Shintani was looking for his long lost hatsukoi and guess what? She is none other than our beloved Kaichou! Surprise, surprise...

The best part of this epi is when, Shintani a.k.a You-kun suddenly hugged Ayuzawa after realising she was actually his long lost hatsukoi. And other than Ayuzawa, it took everybody by surprise...

Major LOL here!

Well, truth also caught Ayuzawa by surprise and this will definitely spark Usui's jealousy. So? What will it be, kaichou? This is definitely a major cliffhanger!

A prince, a maid and a trap...

This week's KWMS (epi 20) is another filler and I wonder how is this important to the plot? This week's main focal is on Yukimura and his sister Ruri. And the rest of the plot revolves around Aoi-chan the trap. Seriously, how is this important to the plot? This is so frustrating....

Usui... doki doki..

Do you know it is illegal to date a minor? It is called pedophile

Kanou & Yukimura.... Since when these wierdos became close friends? And why is Kanou always seen tagging along Yukimura? Hmmm... something is so funny and I don't certainly mean funny 'ha-ha'...

The trap net-idol Aoi-chan.... Why is he even in this epi?

All in all, this week's epi is not worth watching and I wish in the next epi the appearance of a new student can really spice things up! Major finger-crossing!

Killing me softly...

This week's episode of KWMS (epi 19) had left me breathless yet again! I simply adore it. I love the fact that Ayuzawa came to visit Usui and tend to his wound... And I also love the fact that Ayuzawa is gradually opening her heart to Usui... BTW, in this epi we are once again witness the hawtness of Usui in megane. Yet again, this epi is certainly killing me oh so softly...Anyway, I will no do any review on this epi so let us cut to the chase as I would like to bring your attention to these pictures instead..

This is definitely my favorite moment in this epi. Kyaaaa!

All in all, this episode of KWMS had certainly left me kyaa-fied! I really haato Usui Takumi! I wonder how many episodes the series takes? Because this is the 19th epi and I can't wait for the Usui-Ayuzawa relationship to develop further....

I HEART romantic animes!

I have been watching animes since long ago and I have watched a lot! Through my observation, I noticed that there are many genres and sub-genres of animes. Ever since, my preferences of types or genres of animes have been expanded. Currently, my preference is on romantic animes and this type of animes covers other major genres as well, such as, shoujo, josei, shounen, seinen and the whole nine yards! The type of romantic animes that I like normally is shoujo and josei with a dash of comedy and slice of life. In addition, I love romantic animes that involve gender-bender and tsundere character as well. The list that I am going to share is the mixture of josei and shoujo animes.

Below are the list of 10 romantic animes that I really adore:

1. Kaichou Wa Maid-sama!
If you are trying shoujo for the first time, try this series for size….

2. Ouran High School Host Club
A hilarious gender-bender shoujou themed anime. Simply love it!

3. Lovely*Complex a.k.a Lovecon
A heart-warming and totally romantic anime.

4. Toradora!
A tsundere and a domestic god. Hilarious!

5. Itazura Na Kiss
Love the ending! So heart-tending.

6. Nodame Cantabile + Paris Arc + Finale
Music and romance intertwined. One of the best josei anime, to date!

7. Emma: A Victorian Love Story (season 1 & 2)
The title speaks for itself! Not you average josei themed anime, though...

8. Fruits Basket
Bishies heaven!

9. Paradise Kiss
If you are in to fashion and glam this is a must-watch romantic josei!

10. Honey & Clover (season 1 & 2)
Another romantic josei , though, I don’t really heart the ending.

In actual fact, shoujo animes are intended for demographic which is young teenage girls. However, as time passes by, the genre is accepted by people regardless their age or background. Whereas, josei anime is targeting the young women viewers. Even though, shoujo is for teenagers, I watch the animes because I love the theme and the sentiment they are conveying. And, shoujo animes always make me feel light-hearted and giddy... just like a teenage girl suppose to be....

Move forward, dammit!

I am somewhat frustrated with KWMS ep. 17 (Usui is Now My Enemy). Gosh! I wish Usui and Ayuzawa would move forward with their relationship and be happy together as a couple.

There was an almost-kissing scene but it got ruined by some stupid hanabi! Dammit!

Yeay! They ARE going to kiss again!! Another lip-locking scene, I reckon? kyaaaaa!

Oh, no!!!!! Not the hanabi!

Damn you, stupid hanabi!!!

Kyaaaa! Megane Usui-kun!

I rather enjoyed this week's episode 11 of Kaichou Wa Maid-sama (KWMS hereafter) because this week I got to see Usui's hidden facade. Hands down, this week's episode has made Takumi Usui my ultimate favorite bishounen!

Plot-wise, this week's is not that exciting or interesting. However, my curiosity is piqued when Usui's life is gradually peeled. I don't read the manga so, this is really exciting. Towards the end of this episode we are exposed to his interest on animal. In a rather subtle way, it exhibits the tender side of him. And then, we are finally shown of Usui's home. It is rather somber and austere... Something is certainly amiss here.

And best of all, who would have thought that Usui wears glasses. Megane Usui-kun! For that sole reason I am really looking forward for the next episode. Major cliffhanger there! \(*o*)/

W00t! Usui makes wearing glasses looks so hot and trendy!

Love is in the air, literally!

I simply adore the 6th episode of Kaichou Wa Maid-sama... W00t! Usui Takumi finally fessed-up his feeling for Misa-chan! and the fact that he deliberately jumped off the roof of the school building in order to retrieve a photo (that could blow Misa's cover) proves that he likes likes Misa-chan. He is such a bold man (or boy)! Way to go Usui-kun. がんばっ!

Usui-kun, カッコイイ! \(*o*)/

Usui: Misa-chan suki da!
And then, the ultimate ドキドキ moment.... *sigh*

You are mine! Whoaaa!

[Note]
This anime series is the testament that I am an absolute shoujo fan!

Get ready to get spanked!

Get ready to get spanked!

Time has always been my arch nemesis when it comes to anime-blogging. I really wish I could write KAICHOU WA MAID-SAMA's review on every week's episode. However, since time is the issue, I decided to simply write review on my favorite episodes only. In this episode, it seemed that so many people will be 'spanked' by our Misa-chan...

Pertinent to that, the 5th episode of this anime is really my favorite! I always love the portrayal of the female protagonist Ayuzawa Misaki in this anime especially this episode. Best of all, I really like how our heroine deals with the stalkers. She was so independent and practical, kakkooi! In this episode she was involved in a rather sticky situation in which she was harassed by two stalkers who were interested in S&M. Who will be S and who will be M?

No, no... Misa-chan doesn't need a stunt gun! Misa-chan knows aikido!

Usui: Did I turn you on?

Naturally, being a man, Usui Takumi feels that it is his responsibility to protect Misa-chan. In fact, everybody expects that he would be the knight in shining armour who swooped her off her feet to safety.... WRONG! Usui doesn't even lay a finger on anybody. As usual, the day is once again saved by our heroine Misa-chan!

Misa: I am gonna spank you!
Usui: *Gasp* ドキドキ...

Stalker:Do you need a shave?!
Misa: That's a stunt gun, baaka!

Not so sweet anymore! Kyaaa!

Just say it! You love her! Arghhhh! This is killing me!

Anyway, the day becomes normal once the stalkers are arrested. And Misa acknowledges Usui's effort to protect her... Typical tsundere. I love this episode because somehow it catapults their relationship to a better level. In which, both are beginning to acknowledge both's feelings and emotions... By the way, towards the end of the episode Usui did get his 'spanking' form Misa-chan...

[Note]
S & M stands for Sadism and Masochism. Sadism is a sexual fetish wherein one person gets satsfaction by inflicting pain on another person. Masochism is the opposite, where you get satisfaction by having pain inflicted on yourself.

A classic case of shoujo-tsundere: Kaichou Wa Maid-Sama

When ANIMAX anounced that KAICHOU WA MAID-SAMA would be aired soon, I was so estatic! I'm a fool for shoujo (少女) and tsundere (ツンデレ) and based on its manga's reputation, it is most probably an anime to look forward to in 2010.

Well, after watching the first ever episode on Animax, I was downright ecstatic. Apparently this anime has all the essential ingredients for a successful shoujo anime. The tsundere character, a drop-dead gorgeous male character and the romantic comedy plot. This is the one!

The synopsis

The main female protagonist, Ayuzawa Misaki, is the head honcho of a co-ed school. She is very authoritative and cold towards all boys (a classic case of ツンデレ). Apparently, being the president of the school full of problematic boys has transformed her personality. Usui Takumi is one of the male students of the school and he is very popular despites his cold and sombre attitude. He is hated by Misaki since Usui has time and again makes girls cried.

Misaki is from a poor family and because of that she has to work part time as a maid in a maid cafe. The work has forced her to be docile and submissive and it is a stark contrast of her personality as the school president. And because of that, she needs to be under the radar in order to remain feared and respected by everybody at school specifically, the boys. However, on one fine day, her cover was blown into smithereens when she is inadvertantly discovered by Usui Takumi. Exactly at that moment, she reckons her reputation as the school president will be tarnished. To her surprise, Usui does not even breath a word about his encounter. In fact, he supports her. He even protects her from being assaulted by groups of boys. Misaki is still skeptical thinking that Usui is actually trying to mess with her mind. However, towards the end of the episode, Usui proposes her to be his personal maid!

The Verdict

I simply love this anime despites the mediocre animation and graphic. I believe the story will have a romantic development. I also love the portrayal of the main female and male protagonists. Even though it is very typical, heck! I love it! However, the graphics and animation can still be improved. Can't wait for the next episode!
