If you are into fantasy, moe and bishies, BIBLIOTHECA MYSTICA DE DANTALIAN (The Mystic Archives of Dantalian) a.k.a Shoka No Dantalian, is absolutely for you. So far, there are only 2 epis and I love the series. It is packed with action and superb voice-acting and the graphics is so incredible.

The series opens with the introduction of the protagonist Hugh Anthony Disward or Huey when he was young. He seemed to be obsessed with books and library. A partially a bibliomaniac, I guess... When he grew up, he inherited a mansion and a library from his deceased grandfather Lord Wesley Anthony Disward. Unbeknown to him he also inherited a Yomihime (trans: Reading Princess) named Dalian.

The 1st episode: Turn-up Book, is about the first meeting between Huey and Dalian. Then one thing led to another, both of them were struggling to banish the creatures that emerged from a cursed turn-up book. In this epi, Dalian finally acknowledged Huey as her Kagimori (trans: The Key Keeper) and granted him the passageway to the Bibliotheca Mystica De Dantalian. At that moment, Huey realised that Dalian was not really a human as she is the guardian of the mystic archives.

Other than the storyline, I also love the graphics and the music as well. A must-watch summer anime series.

No. 6: A firsty...

Tadaimaa minna-san... It's been a while!

I told you I'll be back. Apparently I haven't forsaken anime and all its glory nevertheless my leisure time needs to be cut into half. Lately, I was and am still preoccupied with my day-to-day commitment. Well, an otaku still has to make a living...

Now let's get back to my entry. I am still watching following Hanasaku Iroha and Ao No Exorcist. Love the series to the core! Other than that, I have bought some anime DVDs but still haven't gotten the much-awaited opportunity to watch them... sigh.. But I have discovered two interesting new series: NO. 6 and THE MYSTIC ARCHIVES OF DANTALIAN. However for this entry I am going to focus on No. 6 first...

No. 6 is an anime series produced by Bones (the same production company that produces Jyu Oh Sei, FMA, Darker Than Black, Ouran Hi Host Club...). The series takes place in an alternate universe and it revolves around two protagonists, Schion and Nezumi. FYI, No. 6 is actually referring to an sectors of regions. In this universe, the regions of the earth are divided into sectors and No. 6 happens to be an ideal city created for the elite.

On Schion's 12th birthday, he met a mysterious wounded boy named Nezumi (trans: Rat) as he broke his bedroom's window. And since it was raining Schion sheltered him. Nezumi told him that the so-called ideal city was made as a brainwashing tool. The next morning Nezumi was gone and Schion was arrested for harbouring, according to the police, a criminal. And because of that he and his mother were banished from their luxurious home, Chronos, and moved into a shabby appartment in Lost Town...

4 years after later, Schion worked as a park operator. While doing his job he inadvertently stumbled upon a dead old man. However, after much investigation, he realized that the body did not belong to and old man. It belonged to a young man who apparently had aged rapidly. He saw a beetle under the skin of the dead body...

One thing led to another, Schion and Nezumi were reunited under a peculiar circumstances and before Schion even realized they reached a place named Western District. A place which is the exact opposite of No. 6...

Well, I hate spoilers and I believe you do too. What I adore of this series is the graphics and the portrayal of the two main characters... Initially I was rather worried of following this series because I am no fan of yaoi anime. However as the series progresses I believe that the relationship between Schion and Nezumi is more like a brother/friend relationship. Nezumi is more like an older brother and vice-versa.

Anyway, this is actually a blessing in disguise because I have more time browsing for new summer 2011 anime series.

Ao No Exorcist: My first impression

Finally I got the chance to watch the very first epi of AO NO EXORCIST (trans: The Blue Exorcist) and I adore it. This anime is worth watching and I am going to follow this series till the end.

In 1st episode: Demons Dwell in the Hearts of Human, we are introduced to the main protagonist Rin Okumura. He has a twin, Yukio who is the exact opposite of him. Yukio is bookish, mild-mannered and intelligent while Rin is rowdy, rough delinquent and a tad cantankerous. Both of them live in a old church together with their guardian named Shiro Fujimoto.

It seems that, Rin is a loser and always runs into trouble whenever he goes. Nevertheless, unbeknown to him, he possesses a special power as a result of his 'special' lineage....

I really love the portrayal of the protagonist and his characteristic. The graphic and animation are excellent and the best of all, I really adore the ED theme. The title is Take Off by a South Korean boy band 2PM.




I can't wait for the ext episode... Finally a good anime series that is worth watching!

Deadman Wonderland anime PV Trailer

This is someting that I might like... Best of all, ROMI PARK will be the voice of the male protagonist! Now, how cool is that??!!!

I have downloaded the first epi via realityLapse.com but since I am up-to-my-nose occupied with work and other errands thus, watching it will be put on hold... Anyway, I hope the characteristic of the protagonist will justify Romi Park's effin' awesome talent. Just you wait!

I THINK might like it...

Lately, I found that anime series are not like they used to be. Or is it me who has changed? I notice that the themes and the subject matters of most anime series last season are not my cuppa tea. Age factor, I reckon. Or I would like to rephrase it as: I am getting older. I am HUNGRY for good series like Inuyasha, or Jigoku Shoujo or Paradise Kiss or my favorite Honey and Clover. Anyway while browsing for a new anime series to watch I stumbled upon HANASAKU IROHA... I tried watching the first episode and I think I MIGHT like it....

Hanasaku Iroha centers around Ohana Matsumae, a 16-year-old teenager living in Tokyo, who is left in the care of her estranged grandmother, following her mother's elopement with her boyfriend. Ohana arrives at her grandmother's country estate to realize she is the owner of a Taishō period hot spring inn called, Kissuisō. She begins working at Kissuisō, at her grandmother's request, but finds herself at ends with many employees and customers at the inn. Initially feeling discouraged, she decides to use her circumstances as an opportunity to change herself for the better and to make amends with her deteriorating relationship with the Kissuisō staff for a more prominent future.

The clash of the Vasto Lorde!

I have dropped BLEACH and I have stopped watching the episodes. However, I stumbled upon this MV. OMG! This is so freakin' awesome! Anyway, I am wondering... how's everything with Bleach. I heard that Aizen is defeated...

Hmm... I am contemplating whether I should re-follow this series....

Level E: A keeper!

When I first watched the very first epi of Level E, I was instantaneously hooked! This is definitely important as I am not a big fan of sci-fi anime. This series is funny and somewhat quirky. The best thing about this series is the portrayal of Prince Baka Ki El Dogra a.k.a Baka Ouji, the alien prince. His name absolutely justifies everything about him: STUPID!

Another reason why I think this series is a keeper is because of the portrayal of the roommate, Yukitaka Tsutsui. He is supposed to lead a peaceful life as a student who majors in sports. However, his dream is shattered into smithereens when he meets with the stupid prince. The combi of two equals explosive humour!

Yukitaka: Ok, listen here Blondie... I AM the lead in this series, got it!

Baka : Hell, no!

I am not familiar with the manga, though, since each week we are introduced to a different mini-sode. At the moment, I am at epi 5 and it is the funniest epi ever.

It's a must-watch anime series of this season! Mark my word!

Kimi Ni Todoke Season 2: Love triangle alert!

There something mysterious about Kimi Ni Todoke serialization... In my humble and honest opinion, there is nothing great about this series. The plot is way too slow for my taste and the characterization is just mediocre. But I keep coming back for more!

The 2nd season took off where it used to be... No development whatsoever! Sigh.... I was hoping that Kazehaya would own up to his feeling since the last episode of Kimi Ni Todoke season 1 had somehow ignited a so-called spark between the two. But then again, Kuronuma Sawako a.k.a Sadako and Kazehaya Shouta are not moving forward. To my dismay, they are still fumbling in the dark despites the ample hints and giveaways. For goodness sake, Kazehaya! Be a man and confess... You can't lose what you never had!

Kazehaya, meet Kento. I believe, he is going to be your rival...

And then comes Kento Miura and hence the plot thickens! Yeay! Finally, a development! Warning: love triangle ahead! Anyway, I would love to congratulate Kento for his bravado in his effort to get into Sawako's good book. Atta boy!

My dropped list

I know it's been a while since I updated my blog. I have been uber busy these few months. I also felt rather down since the endings of all my favorite anime series. Well, good things always come to an end, finally.

At the moment, I just came back from anime-shopping. Well, I might say most of this season's anime series are not really my cuppa tea.I have been downloading several 1st episodes. And finally I decided to drop some.

1. Infinite Stratos a.k.a IS

This is a seinen anime with a science fiction theme. It's about a boy who is forced to study in all-girls school. Why? Well, it seems that IS technology can only be used by girls and by twist of fate, Orimura, our male protagonists, seems to posses the ability to harness the IS...

The reason why I dropped it is because I don't really fancy harem kind of anime and also, mecha anime has never been in my list.

2. Fractale

This is another science fiction themed anime series that I have to drop. The edge that this series offers is the setting. It resembles the future Ireland. Somehow, this series reminds me of one of the Studio Ghibli's productions.... But I couldn't recall which one.

3. Oniichan no Koto Nanka Zenzen Suki Janain Dakara ne!

Now, that's a mouthful! Well, I dropped this just because I found it rather distasteful. Falling in love with your brother is quite revolting. I know, I know... they are not related by blood at all...But then again it doesn't appeal to me. Dropped!

Otome Yokai Zakuro ep. 8: A synopsis and review

This week's epi of Otome Yokai Zakuro is really interesting...

Agemaki and Susukihotaru were kidnapped on their way to Orikata's shop. Apparently they were kidnapped by some twins hooded villains. The motive is to make them as bait to lure Zakuro into their traps... Well it worked!

You b#%#%^s! You've pissed me off and now I am pissed!

When they (Riken and Zakuro)managed to track down Agemaki and Susukihotaru, both of them were ambushed by the twins who finally revealed themselves as another half-demons (han-yo). It seemed that they had something unsettled against Zakuro. They fought and Zakuro managed to overwhelmed them... But in the nick of time the twin han-yo were saved Lady Rangui a.k.a the Black widow Demon (remember her?).

Say hello to the twins for me... LOL

After the three of them vanished into thin air Riken and Zakuro went for the rescue and Agemaki and Susukihotaru were saved!

What I want to highlight here is the development of Zakuro and Agemaki relationship. Zakuro is becoming more fragile in each epi. She begins to display her true emotions whenever she's with Agemaki.

A typical Japanese display of affection... pfffffft!

Same thing happens for Agemaki. I bet he started to appreciate Zakuro more than just merely a partner.

But what is with the twin han-yo, Daidai and Byakuroku? What are their issues? And what's with the vengeance they seem to have against Zakuro? Most importantly who is Lady Rangui who claims to know Zakuro's mother?

Face value...

Kuragehime ep. 5 opens my eyes to the reality.... Men are downright DENSE! The thought that Shu had 'overlooked' Tsukimi, simply supports my premise. Men are too shallow to realize that women are 'magical' little beings. Our outward appearances can change with even just a teeny dab of some make-up on our faces... What's important is the inside which Shu fails to acknowledge.

In this episode, we are exposed to the woman who was at the altar marrying Kuranosuke in the OP... Remember? Allow me to refresh your memory.

In this epi, it is apparent that the main plot of this series is the up-coming destruction of the Amamizu-kan. And with the appearance of Shoko Inari, it is possible that the secondary conflict in this series is her. Shoko Inari is the EXACT opposite of our female protagonist. She is an attractive manipulative career woman who uses her beauty and sex appeal to get what she wants from men. Apparently, she is up to no good when she is marrying Kuranosuke and that's why Shu was opposing it... Other than learning the shallowness of men's brains, I also learned that villain can be pretty as well... I have a strong feeling that this lady is going to be one of the antagonists in this series.

The moral of the story is, beauty is NOT just a skin deep. It helps you to achieve your goal (and what is wrong with that?) and it helps people to hear and see you. I applaud Kuranosuke as he accepts that the normal Tsukimi, but he believes if she wants to improve herself, or fight for a cause, as was shown in this episode.

Shiki ep. 15: The BLOOD thickens! (geddit?)

Shocked!

After watching Shiki ep. 15, it made me wonder.... what will be the end of the people of Sotoba? And what's more important, what will happen to Sotoba itself, if ALL the citizen become the Okiagaris?

All of them are vampires!!! Gasp!

What really happened to Natsuno (the supposed protagonist)? Is he cremated? However, in this episode he had made a comeback twice. I reckon he had become one of the vampires but something is amiss here... So, he is a vampire with a mind of his own, meaning, he is not affected by Tatsumi and the Shikis...

Blood everywhere! But I thought vampires don't bleed....

The plot is interesting but it's way too slow....

Of a bishie and a yokai

If you are into bishies, ears and moe.... guess what? OTOME YOKAI ZAKURO (Demon Girl Zakuro) fits the bills perfectly.

I am hooked to this anime series simply because I love the artistic elements that this series exhibits. The portrayal of each character (especially the female lead, Zakuro) is really intriguing. Each character is given special traits and these traits are highlighting the importance of each character in this series.

Doesn't she remind you of Inuyasha???

I really adore the portrayal of the male lead Agemaki who is portrayed as an anti-thesis of a typical male lead. He is a weakling who is afraid of any types of yokai. He is time and again saved by Zakuro in numerous occasions. Nevertheless, since I never read the manga I believe his character will soon develop and improved.

At the moment I am at the 4th episode and so far I couldn't find any flaw of this series.... Simply adore it!

TADAIMAA....Back from shopping!

Well, it has been ages I haven't updated anything. Well, actually I have my own reason for it. I went shopping! Yup... I was shopping for new animes series...

For this season, I have decided to stick to 3 + 1 animes. They are, KURAGEHIME, PSYCHIC DETECTIVE YAKUMO, OTOME YOKAI ZAKURO and SHIKI (the only anime from previous season)

For this post, I am going to talk about KURAGEHIME a.k.a Princess Jellyfish. I think I am going to stick to this anime like a glue! Simply love the theme and the plot. Ang most important of all I love the the characters design in this series as well. This is absolutely my kind of anime!

The series is about a spinster jellyfish otaku (and hence the title). She is called Tsukimi (Moonsea - tsuki means moon and umi means the sea). She is not exactly your kawaii type female protagonist. She is short, unkempt, unpolished and a nerd. She lives with other 4 spinsters as well in a complex apartment called Amamizu-kan. They are known as the amars a.k.a Buddhist nuns and that means all of them are still virgins. Each of the amars has her own freak-point. For example, Mayaya is a freak who has an excessive obsession on The Three Kingdoms. Banba has a insane obsession of toy trains...

Then enters a cross-dressing male protagonist: Kuranosuke.... Heck, at the beginning I thought he was actually a 'she'. Ironically, Kuranosuke is much prettier and sexier than any of the girls. With his long legs and slender figure none of the amars suspected anything funny...

By some freaky circumstances, Tsukimi and Kuranosuke have become fast friends... and right now I am on episode 3. From where I am standing, I have a strong feeling that their friendship will develop to another level... If you get my drift!

Time is not my friend now... pffft! So, HIATUS until further notice.

Oh no!!!!!

OMG! ALL my favorite animes have come to an end....

Occult Academy, High School of the Dead, Kaichou wa Maid-sama! (KWMS), and worst of all K-ON!! have ended. Frankly speaking, I am sad and dejected the fact that I am not looking forward to anything anymore. I am still 'shopping' for the new anime series to download.

Among the anime series that I mentioned above, the best anime series of my choice- hands down - belong to OCCULT ACADEMY. The reason be, I really love how the story is wrapped and resolved. And I also love how the relationship between Bunmei and Maya has 'shifted' to another different level...

I also love how K-ON!! ends everything. Instead leaving the fan in wonder about the future of the Light Music Club and Azu-nyan, the creator has managed to fill in the gaps and satisfy the fan simultaneously.

Deep inside, I believe there will be 2nd season of KWMS if we look at how the series is resolved. And based on the manga, I believe the next season of the series will be much more conflict-riddled. I am so crossing my fingers now!

Hmm.. I wonder what is happening to Shiki????

K-ON!! Ep. 24 END: Graduation!

Picture perfect! HTT will be remembered..

K-ON!! has come to its end, finally! Well, all good things must come to an end. I have to admit it, even though this series is the best ever! I am proud to say that I am a K-ON (both seasons) fan! Simply love it! For some unapparent reason I am so hooked to this series. Moreover, I am definitely gonna miss the girls especially Yui.

This epi is the saddest epi ever! Yup, I cried my heart out especially when the girls sang a special song for Azu-nyan, (though, I didn't quite catch the title). The saddest part is when Azu-nyan begged the senpais not graduate. I really cried when she did that!

Anyway, I really love how the final episode is wrapped...

The war is ON!

I would be crazy if I did not blog on KWMS ep. 23...

I believe this epi is the starting point of an impending war between Usui and Shintani. For the first time Usui is serious about his feeling for Misaki. However, for some mysterious reason Misaki seemed oblivious about his action. I will not going to do the synopsis and let's get to the important point, shall we?

In this week's epi, Usui and Ayuzawa were rather bold in displaying their affection. I really adore that Ayuzawa was opening to him gradually. Maybe, the appearance of Shintani is a blessing in disguise. At least, Usui is becoming more serious when he realized that he had a rival.

On Ayuzawa' side, she was rather torn between Shintani and Usui. There is a part in this epi when they - Ayuzawa and Shintani - talked about their childhood, it seemed that Ayuzawa could connect to Shintani's softer and tender side. And when Shintani talked about Ayuzawa's kindness towards him during their childhood, this certainly gave Usui the shock that he much needed. Reminding him that he was about to lose Ayuzawa for good if he kept on the lackadaisical facade. And when Shintani talked about his part time job, she began to see him as a man. And Usui was jealous beyond word!

The part that I adore most is when, Ayuzawa finally told him the truth about she being a maid in the cafe. After realizing the sincerity of Shintani, she decided to tell him the truth. Shintani was so surprised and began to wreak havoc. However, in the midst of the commotion, Usui intervened in and dragged Ayuzawa outside, behind the cafe, followed by Shintani.

I said, no touchy!!!

And this was when Usui declared to rip out Shintani's throat if he ever touched Ayuzawa again! Well, the war is definitely ON!
